DragonLight Films is an award winning independent film production company based in Cambridge who specialise in producing corporate and documentary films. We collaborate directly with clients in the science, tech and education sectors to produce branded strategic video content designed to get you a business result.

We have over 10 years experience creating video content across a wide variety of industries & film genres. We are a small friendly team able to mobilise rapidly at affordable rates. DragonLight also partners with a trusted network of specialists - cinematographers, camera operators, sound recordists, live stream technicians, animators and drone pilots. This enables us to keep costs down for our clients and bring the best in house experience to projects of any scale.

 
 

 
 

Colin Ramsay, founder and director of DragonLight Films has produced dozens of films for clients including the United Nations, Historic England, the Salvation Army, University of Cambridge, the NHS, UNESCO, the Wellcome Trust, The Royal Society, Cambridge Assessment, DMG Media and Bear Grylls.

His films have featured in Nature Magazine, BBC click, Cambridge Science Festival, The Festival of Ideas, Institut Français, COP28, The Royal Institution of Australia and international film events. In 2017, Colin won the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) “Best Research Film of the Year” for his documentary film Pain in the Machine. Before filmmaking, he spent 10 years in corporate Learning and Development and has lived in China & Australia.


Dr Priya Kalia provides writing and business development support to Dragonlight – ensuring that exciting stories across science, technology, and the environment are heard on a global stage. She loves meeting new people, helping them identify their challenges and develop their narratives.

Priya has previously written in a journalist capacity for Life Sciences trade media publications Genetic Engineering News, Technology Networks, and Biocompare and for numerous organisations, from SMEs through to multi-nationals. Based in the UK with international experience, including Canada, the US, the Nordics and Asia, Priya has a BSc from the University of Toronto and a PhD from UCL with 12 years of medical research experience.
